The Lord is Good in Our Fellowship

Our Annual Church Picnic is Sunday!

This Sunday our church family will gather at Shocco Springs for our annual church picnic. We are looking forward to worshiping together, celebrating baptisms in the lake, and enjoying time of rich fellowship with one another.

The Lord is abundantly good to give us moments like this—times where we can slow down, step away from routine, and simply enjoy being together as the body of Christ. We encourage you to use this day not only to reconnect with familiar faces, but also to meet families you may not yet know. Some of the sweetest encouragement in the church comes through simple conversations and shared time together.

Event Details:

Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Please plan to arrive a little early to allow time for parking and transportation

Golf carts will be available to pick you up in the parking lot and take you down to the lake area.

What to Bring:

Lawn chairs or blankets
Sunscreen
Snacks and drinks (CrossPoint will provide lunch, but beverages will not be provided)
A tent for shade if you would like extra cover

Above all, come ready to worship, celebrate baptism, and enjoy meaningful time together.

We are thankful for the gift of the church family. For the Lord is good, and His goodness is displayed in the joy of His people gathered together.

We can’t wait to see you on Sunday!

Pray for Family Camp

This Friday, 35 families will head to Shocco Springs for our very first Family Camp. It will be a short weekend, but one we’ve prayerfully designed to be meaningful and intentional.

During our time together, we’ll be anchored in Isaiah 43:2: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” We’ll spend time learning what it looks like to trust Jesus—in our lives, in our homes, and in every season. There will also be space to slow down, connect with one another, and simply enjoy being together outdoors.

We would love for you to join us in praying for:

Favorable weather throughout the weekend
Safety for all families traveling and attending
Deeper relationships within families and with the body of Christ
Hearts that grow in trust, resting in the Lord in every moment and season

The Lord is so good to give us this time together. We’re grateful for each family and are expectant for what He will do.

In Christ,
Jen Burks

A Prayer for the Quebec  City Mission Trip

Over the last three and half years, CrossPoint has developed a significantly close relationship with our partner church, Nouvelle Vie Quebec. Serving and encouraging them has been a joy. Watching this precious church develop and grow is a testament to what the Lord is doing in Quebec, and the deeply enjoyed friendships have been mutually impactful.

Please pray for Nouvelle Vie Quebec as they make plans to move to a new location for worship. Pray for them as they seek to speak the truth about Jesus in a culture hostile to the Bible. And pray for them as they invest in relationships with people who are spiritually hungry and looking for answers that these new friends will be drawn to a redemptive relationship with Jesus.

The upcoming mission trip will be May 7-14. Below is the itinerary so you can pray for the CrossPoint team while they serve.

May 7  Travel to Quebec City

May 8  Preparation of gifts for guests and for Mother’s Day

May 9  Working with Action Nouvelle Vie to serve the community

May 10  Serving with teams to support Sunday worship, guests, and children’s ministry

Introducing Our New Family Catechisms

The Lord has been so good to bless us with our families. It’s a gift we want to steward well. The days can feel long, but the years are short—and before we know it, that season under our roofs has passed. Many parents quietly wonder, “Have I done enough?”

We want to come alongside you with a resource to help answer that question—something that intentionally shapes your child’s faith and understanding of who God is. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our Family Catechisms.

Catechisms have long been part of the life of the church. At their core, they are simple question-and-answer summaries of biblical truth that help children learn and remember what we believe. They create a clear and consistent way to talk about God, the gospel, and what it means to follow Jesus.

But this isn’t just about memorizing answers.

Our prayer is that these truths would move from head knowledge to heart transformation—that they would be deeply known, trusted, and remembered. As parents, you play a vital role in shaping your child’s understanding of God. Through simple, consistent rhythms, you are laying a foundation that can guide them for a lifetime.

A Resource That Grows with Your Family

Each catechism begins with a straightforward question and answer, paired with a memory verse to anchor truth in Scripture. As your child grows, the resource grows with them—offering deeper discussion questions that help them wrestle with what they believe and why it matters.

Whether around the dinner table, in the car, or at bedtime, these everyday moments can shape a biblical worldview over time.

You don’t have to be an expert. Faithful, intentional conversations—however simple—can have a lasting impact.

For Every Season of Parenting

It’s never too early—or too late—to begin.

Whether you have preschoolers just beginning to learn about God or students preparing to leave home, these catechisms are designed to meet your family where you are. The goal is that when your child steps into adulthood, their faith isn’t something they’ve borrowed—it’s something they own. They know what they believe and why.

Each catechism also includes two discussion questions to help you engage at different levels as your child grows, encouraging conversations that move beyond surface-level answers into real-life application.

Partnering Together

At CrossPoint, we don’t see ourselves as the primary disciplersof your children—you do that every day. Our role is to support and equip you as you lead your family.

These catechisms are one way we’re connecting church and home—reinforcing the same biblical truths in both places so faith can take root and grow.

Our prayer is that through this practice, you would see the Lord’s goodness at work in your home—drawing your children into a deeper understanding of who He is and a lasting trust in Him.

CrossPoint Senior Class of 2026

For the Lord is Good in Family Ministry

There is something beautiful about watching generations come together in the life of the church.

This past Sunday, during our Family Dedication class, that beauty was on full display. Families gathered not only to take a step of intentionality in raising their children—but also to meet the prayer partners who will walk alongside them in the years ahead.

This photos shows a group of families and the people who have committed to pray faithfully for them during the first five years of their child’s life.

In this season of family ministry, we are reminded again and again that the Lord is good—not only in how He cares for our children, but in how He surrounds them with a community of faith.

Our First Five ministry is a simple but powerful expression of that goodness.

When a child is dedicated, they are not only welcomed and prayed over in a single moment—they are invited into an ongoing story of intentional care. Each family is paired with a prayer partner (or a couple) who commits to walking alongside them during the first five years of that child’s life. Through regular prayer, encouragement, and connection, these partners become a steady reminder that families are not raising their children alone.

And when you step back and take it all in, you begin to see something deeper unfold.

You see older generations investing in younger ones.
You see wisdom being shared and faith being modeled.
You see the church living as a family—just as God designed it.

The First Five is a reminder that discipleship begins early, that community matters deeply, and that the church has a vital role to play in the spiritual formation of the next generation.

As we look at these families and their prayer partners, we don’t just see a program—we see a picture of God’s goodness on display.

For the Lord is good in our families, and He is faithful across every generation.

The Lord is Good in Making Disciples

The Lord is Good in disciple-making! Did you know that we are currently in a season of discipleship focus? Our Wednesday nights this spring are focused on discipleship. We have multiple, small discipleship groups meeting on-campus on Wednesday nights. We have other discipleship groups that meet throughout the week on different days and in different places. Getting in small groups, discussing the Scriptures, discussing life, and praying earnestly for one another is vital to every Christian’s spiritual growth.

The Lord Jesus was clear when he gave His disciples the Great Commission: “Go and MAKE DISCIPLES…” (Matthew 28:18-20). There is no such thing as a disciple who is not called to make disciples. So, ask yourself these questions: Who is discipling you? Who are you discipling? Are there people in your sphere of influence who would say “Yes” if you simply asked, “Hey, would you like to read the Bible together?” Could the Lord be asking you to open your home up to make disciples?

[46] And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, [47] praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. (Acts 2:46–47)

If you’re interested in finding a place where you can be discipled or where you can start discipling others, let someone know. Start with your friends at church. Ask your Bible Study Leader. Ask any of our staff members. Ask me! You may be surprised just how much the Lord can grow you by committing yourself to being discipled and discipling others.

I love you and I’m praying for you.

The Lord is Good in Suffering

Life is hard.

Growing up is hard.

Adulthood is hard.

Marriage is hard.

Singleness is hard.

Parenting is hard.

Caring for sick or aging family members is hard.

So much of what we experience day in and day out is difficult. Welcome to life.

In our suffering, the Lord is good.

As a son or daughter of God through faith in Jesus Christ, your suffering is not punishment from God. Your suffering is an opportunity for God to demonstrate his steadfast love and grace to you.

In the Old Testament when Job suffered, he was not being punished. Job was experiencing a tremendous difficulty. Yet, even in this difficulty, Job held fast to his trust in God. He refused to let his circumstances turn him away from God. Did he understand why he was suffering? No. But he continued to trust God for his faithfulness.

Job’s friends told Job that he was not living a righteous life. They insisted that Job was not acceptable to God and this was the reason for his suffering. Job, however, refused to buy into their works-based righteousness. He chose instead to trust God, God’s providence, and God’s goodness. Job was clinging to the promise of God’s grace.

To whom or what do you cling when you experience suffering or difficulty?

Remember that the Lord is good, even in suffering.

If you are experiencing a difficulty and would like to talk with someone, I am available. You are welcome to contact me at [email protected] for an appointment.

The Lord is Good in SAM

The Lord is good to our seniors! The SAM ministry of CrossPoint seeks to build up the church of Jesus Christ through fellowship and service. We seek to accomplish this by offering fun and innovative socials, events and trips that allow our seniors unique times of fellowship. We also seek to reach JUST ONE MORE through providing opportunities for service and outreach that allow our seniors to minister to others in the church as well as in the community.

This year, our seniors have experienced the goodness of God through many shared meals and times of fellowship. We look forward to many more in the days ahead and would love for you to join us as we continue to enjoy His blessings together.

Today is the deadline to sign up for our upcoming SAM Amerex Outing and Lunch. Be sure to also mark your calendars for our next sack lunch on May 4th, featuring entertainment by Mark Dunn, as well as our SAM outing to Rickwood Field on May 27th.

You can register for these events and find more information at the SAM table outside the dining hall. Come and be part of all the Lord is doing through this ministry!

For The Lord is Good in CrossKids

This year we have seen goodness of God in so many ways in our CrossKids ministry! Our staff decided to make a top 10 list of the ways the Lord has been good to us this year.

  1. Seeing the fruit of Preschool Ministry in the lives of our Grade-Schoolers as they are learning and growing in their faith.
  2. Seeing our volunteers love, care for and nurture the faith of our Preschoolers.
  3. We have seen the Goodness of God when volunteers tell us how much they enjoy teaching our littles about Jesus.
  4. God’s Goodness is on display when we get to hear our preschoolers pray.
  5. The Lord’s goodness is seen each week in the love all of our kids have of serving. It doesn’t matter what we ask them to do they are happy to jump in and do it.
  6. The Lord’s goodness shines bright right now on Wednesday nights with our grade school kids as they discover more about walking with God and put it in to practice.
  7. We see God’s goodness in the lives of 5 of our kids who have just completed our New Believers Class and are learning what it means to live their life for Christ.
  8. God’s goodness has been on display as we are preparing for Camp Crosskids with our leadership team. God has some big things in store for us this summer.
  9. We have seen the goodness of God as He fills our Bible Study classroom with Godly teachers to teach and lead our kids each week.
  10. The goodness of God shines through on Sundays as our kids build relationship with their friends and open their hearts up to new ones.

For the Lord is Good in Our Seasons

Life never stays the same. It is always changing. And every season is uniquely different.

In our early seasons of parenting, we are worried about sleep schedules and potty training. Then, as time goes on, the worries tend to shift. Are they ready to launch? Have we taught them enough? Has their faith become their own?

Every season brings new questions. New challenges. New emotions.

And yet, in all of it, one truth remains steady:
For the Lord is good in our seasons.

He is present in the chaos of the early years.
He is faithful in the stretching middle years.
And He is trustworthy in the letting-go seasons.

The challenge for us as parents isn’t just to get through each phase—but to step into each one with intention, trusting that God is at work in both us and our children.

We have two special opportunities for parents in these phases coming up over the next two Sundays.

🎓 Preparing to LaunchApril 19th at 10:45

This season comes faster than we expect.

One day you teach them to walk—and the next, you are preparing to let them go.

This milestone is for parents who are approaching the launch phase or are already in it. Together, we’ll talk about what it looks like to:

Help your child take ownership of their faith
Navigate the changing role of parenting
Trust God with what you’ve invested over the years

This season can feel both exciting and uncertain—but you are not alone in it.

🌿 Family DedicationApril 26th at 10:45

This milestone is about more than a moment—it’s about setting a foundation.

In these early years, you are shaping rhythms, values, and a picture of who God is for your child. Family Dedication is an opportunity to be intentional about that calling and commit to leading your child spiritually.

Whether you are ready to dedicate your child or simply want to better understand this first season of parenting, this class is for you.

To dedicate your child, register here:

To attend the class without dedicating, email: [email protected]

No matter what season you are in right now—whether it feels overwhelming, ordinary, or bittersweet—God is present in it.

He is not just preparing your child.
He is shaping you, too.

The seasons will keep changing…
but the goodness of God will remain.

The Lord Was Good In Puerto Rico

Why do we go?

I’m not asking why do we give to missions. And I am not asking why we send missionaries. But why do we go on these short-term trips? How do we justify them?

Our trip was justified because we got to deepen our partnership and relationship with Iglesia Bautista Esperanza Eterna. We were able to encourage this young church plant, and we were encouraged by them in return. I praise God for the faithful pastors he has raised up in Puerto Rico. We served with Pastors Oscar and Miguel during our time there, and God is using them greatly to shepherd their people.

Our trip was justified because we provided labor and worked hard to serve a single mother and her daughter. We painted her house, sealed her roof, and provided clothing for them. Our students worked hard and stepped up to pray for people in the community. They showed Christ’s love to people they couldn’t easily converse with. And they prayed compassionately for others in one tongue as our translator related it in another language.

Our trip was justified because our students got to see that we serve a God of the nations. We don’t just serve the God of Crosspoint. We don’t just serve the God of our country. We serve the almighty God who is worthy of worship from every tribe, tongue, and nation. Our students got to grow in their heart for the lost, and their adoration of God’s global kingdom.

Our trip is justified because now we return with the reality in mind that we don’t have to travel to another nation or culture to find our Just1More. We want to reach our neighbors, families, friends, and cities. God worked greatly in our work there, and he will continue to build his kingdom as we return here.

In Christ,

Trace
